CHILDREN'S DIVISION
Creative Movement
Ballet & Tap (age 3)
Mondays 3:15-3:45 (classroom B)
(A Wednesday 3:15-3:45 class will open once Monday’s class fills)
This class is designed to encourage a child’s creative expression through movement to music, while learning some of the first ballet steps and French terminology
Pre-Ballet
Ballet & Tap (age 4)
Mondays 3:30-4:15 (classroom A)
Tuesday 3:00-3:15 (classroom A)
Large motor skills are more developed at this age allowing for additional ballet & tap steps and terminology to be introduced and practiced.
Level 1
Ballet & Tap (ages 5 & 6)
Mondays 4:00-5:00pm (classroom B)
Wednesday 4:00-5:00pm (classroom B)
Ballet steps and terminology in this level are expanded to include more technique. Combinations of steps are practiced for coordination and concentration. Tap allows the child to experience a different form of dance and rhythm.
Level 2
Ballet, Tap, Jazz (ages 7 & 8)
Tuesdays 4:00-5:30 (classroom A)
Technique becomes the emphasis in this level while still encouraging the joy of movement. Jazz is added to tap and ballet to promote contemporary expression.
INTERMEDIATE DIVISION
Level 3 Ballet & Pre-pointe
With over an hour devoted to ballet technique, strength is built and knowledge of the art is expanded. Tap and Jazz classes can be added from the Open Division to enhance the student’s curriculum. Pre-pointe class available for female students. Students are encouraged to enroll in both class days.

Level 4 Ballet & Pre-pointe/Pointe
(Level 4 requires faculty level placement.)
This level is for the student who has chosen dance as a primary activity and is serious in his/her training. All ballet classes at this level are required. Strength cannot be built without consistent attendance. Our female students will be placed on pointe after faculty evaluation- proper development of muscles and technique is essential.
Students are also required to attend an Open Division Jazz or Tap class to enhance their classical ballet training and movement quality.

All students Level 4 and above are invited to be in the SCBD Youth Company. Rehearsals are on Fridays & Saturdays (mainly Saturdays) when in performance season.
ADVANCED DIVISION
Level 5 & 6 Ballet & Pointe
(Levels 5 & 6 requires faculty level placement.)
For the student who is serious in his/her training and has either chosen dance as a primary activity or has aspirations of becoming a professional dancer. To be considered advanced, students must have achieved strong foundations of technique and be experienced in pointe work (female).
Level 5 & 6 is three days a week. All classes listed under this level are required, and students are always welcome to enroll in an intermediate level ballet class as an extra class. Students are also required to attend an Open Division jazz or tap class to enhance their classical ballet training and movement quality.

OPEN DIVISION (JAZZ + TAP)
“Purely on their own, or as complementary to classical ballet training, Tap and Jazz classes teach the student to express completely different styles of rhythm and contemporary movement.”

*It is not required that a student be enrolled in ballet to enjoy the training Open Division Jazz and Tap classes offer. Available to students ages 9+, the students are placed in levels based on their technique and knowledge of the individual form of dance.
LADIES’ BALLET CLASS
Monday evenings 7:00pm-8:15pm
in classroom B with Collette Welty!
Excited to have a ballet class open for adults to enroll and enjoy! Standard ballet class, with barre and center work.
Dress code is flexible.
$85/month.
