CELEBRATING OUR 14TH SEASON!
SCBD is delighted to present our favorite Christmas classic, The Nutcracker
December 18th-20th at the New Braunfels Civic Center!
The Youth Company will be featured in our end of year Spring Recital, and we will be seeking out performance opportunities and ways to be a blessing to our New Braunfels community throughout the Spring semester. (More details later in the season :)
We are excited for another inspiring year with our Youth Company and would love for you to be a part of it!
THE NUTCRACKER
DECEMBER 18th-20th, 2026

SCBD YOUTH COMPANY NUTCRACKER CASTING AUDITION:
Saturday, July 25th
Level 4: 10am-12:15pm
Level 5 & 6: 12:30pm-3:15pm
COST
Youth Company membership fee: $195
-due July 1st
Nutcracker ticket requirement:
-Youth company members are required to purchase (and then resell) 20 standard tickets at an initial special price of $20/ticket ($400). (This year, the Youth Company ticket requirement is per Company member.)
-2nd student in Youth Company (sibling) would only be 4 additional tickets required ($80)
-Payment for Nutcracker ticket requirement due September 1st.
The only additional costs you would need to plan for are your costume requirement… purchasing things your dancer needs for their costume(s) (specific colored leotard, tights, shoes, etc)
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Nutcracker:
We will aim to publish the cast list by August 10th!
Youth Company rehearsals (for some roles) may begin as early as August 14/15th.
(Further rehearsal details will be published after cast list. Youth Company rehearsals are mainly on Saturdays between 12:30pm and 6pm, and some Fridays between 4:30pm-8:30pm.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR SCBD YOUTH COMPANY:
You can easily enroll in SCBD Youth Company in your parent portal.
ADDITIONAL NOTES / REQUIREMENTS:
-Youth Company dancers are required to be enrolled in Level 4 or above (all classes for your level) and have good class attendance
-Missing more than 4 rehearsals per semester (except for sickness or of course a family emergency) without the Director’s permission is cause for recasting or dismissal from the company. Rehearsals must be a priority. :)
-Must notify Director by email, if need to miss rehearsal for sickness... and to request to be excused from a rehearsal for reasons other than sickness/emergency, you/your parent must email Director for approval.
-Youth Company dancers are required to be diligent to be responsible to study and work hard on their roles (we provide rehearsal videos for students to practice with/study outside of rehearsal time, to help them know their parts very quickly).
-Youth Company dancers and their parents represent SCBD, and are expected to be professional, to maintain a kind and respectful attitude, to be a team player within the company, and to take their rehearsals & performances seriously. These expectations of representing SCBD extend to social media as well.
Nutcracker:
Show week: December 13th-20th with shows on the 18th, 19th & 20th*
* another show or time may be added in depending on status of ticket sales. Will be determined later in season. :)
